How Elite Rides Driver collects and uses location data via Geolocator and Google Maps-related features.

1. Overview

This Location Policy (DRAFT — attorney review required) explains why the Elite Rides Driver app needs location access. Precise location is required to receive trip requests, navigate, and support safety and fraud prevention.

2. What Location Data We Collect

Using Geolocator and related OS location APIs, and Google Maps Platform features for maps/geocoding/navigation support, we may collect: • Latitude/longitude and accuracy estimates • Heading, speed, and timestamps when provided by the device • Location while you are online/available and during active trips • Background location when you have granted "always" (or equivalent) permission and the app needs it to remain dispatchable • Derived places (for example geocoded addresses) used for trip display

3. When We Collect Location

• When you grant permission and use location-dependent features • While your driver status is online/available • During trip lifecycle events (en route, on trip, completed) • Periodically for integrity checks related to spoofing or fraud prevention When you are offline and not on a trip, we aim to limit location collection consistent with product behavior and OS constraints.

4. Why We Need Location

• Match you with nearby trip requests • Provide turn-by-turn navigation context via maps • Show accurate ETAs and trip progress • Support safety investigations and dispute resolution • Detect anomalous or fraudulent location patterns

5. Sharing of Location

During an active trip, necessary location information may be shared with the passenger and Elite Rides operations. Service providers (Firebase/Firestore for storage of location records; Google Maps for map services) process location as needed to provide the Services. See the Privacy Policy.

6. Your Controls

You can change location permissions in iOS or Android settings. If you deny or revoke precise/background location, you may be unable to go online or complete trips. Uninstalling the app stops further collection from that installation, subject to data already stored on our systems.

7. Retention

Location points associated with trips and online sessions are retained according to the Data Retention Schedule for operations, safety, and legal compliance. We do not promise immediate permanent deletion of all location backups when an account is closed.
